Crafting Cohesion
During my nine year tenure at TIBCO, I held the position of Senior Visual Designer for the initial 6 years, followed by a promotion to Creative Director in UX for the remaining 3 years. I led a team of 4+ visual designers and collaborated closely with interactive designers, copywriters, researchers, and developers. I also mentored associates and interns. Working in tandem with product managers, senior management, and stakeholders across the company and across the globe, my primary responsibility as the Creative Director was to ensure consistency in the user interface (UI). I spearheaded the development of a comprehensive pattern library encompassing design components and interaction patterns, crucial for maintaining UI coherence and enhancing user experience.
Core Integration
Constructing a platform presents its fair share of challenges. Consolidating diverse product offerings, each with unique core systems, into a cohesive experience proved to be a sizable feat. Furthermore, adhering to the myriad requirements of the customer base only adds complexity to the rollout process. However, TIBCO's innate ability to seamlessly integrate with any product, any data source, operating system, or application underscores its essence. Integration lies at the core of TIBCO's DNA. The defined objective is to develop a beta version of the Control Plane, empowering enterprise organizations to exert control over their operations.
Strategic Simplification
Enter the Control Plane project: a comprehensive cloud platform facilitating app development, operational integration, service management, and FinOps monitoring. This innovative cloud platform empowers organizations to develop applications, streamline operations, manage services, and monitor FinOps seamlessly. Moreover, the Control Plane initiative aims to offer customers a unified management interface, simplifying operational oversight. This strategic move enables TIBCO to streamline platform subscriptions into a single SKU, enhancing user experience and operational efficiency. By providing a centralized dashboard, we streamlined operations and simplified subscription management, ensuring a seamless user experience.
Diverse Contributions
Spanning the globe, our teams and resources collaborated from diverse geographical locations, contributing to various aspects of the project. While leadership at our headquarters in Santa Clara spearheaded the initiative by defining product requirements and orchestrating stand-up meetings to track progress and address impediments, our designers in India, the UK, and the US played instrumental roles. They diligently secured product requirements and made significant contributions to wireframes, interaction flows, design specifications, UI components, and visual aesthetics.
